Interim Accessibility Statement
This interim statement applies until our first steering group reviews and adopts a final policy. Once Fair Go for Social Work is incorporated, the committee will review it every 12 months.
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We chose the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface because it is designed to be easy to read.
How we check
Every change to this website is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 level AA before it goes live. The tests run on every page, at desktop, mobile and small-phone sizes. They check colour contrast, descriptions for images, labels on form fields, and that pages fit small screens without scrolling sideways. We have also checked that the menus work with a keyboard alone.
Known issues
- Not yet tested by people who use assistive technology. Automated tests find many problems, but not all. We want to test the site with people who use screen readers and other assistive technology.
- No Easy Read versions yet. We're starting with the pages people need most.
- Stories are shared in writing. The share form takes written stories. If you'd rather share by audio or video, or want help writing it down, mention it in your story or use the contact form.
- The contact form is the only way to reach us. There is no published email address or phone number yet.
